SIEF2023 16th Congress

Brno, Czech Republic:
7-10 June 2023

SIEF2023 Registration

Registration is now open. All participants - panel convenors, authors, chairs, discussants, organisers, keynotes, plenary speakers, guests, volunteers, committee members and those without any specific role - MUST register in advance of the event.

Please note that SIEF2023 is planned as a fully face-to-face event, without a hybrid component.

Registration is by online form only and does NOT require instant payment. Your registration will be manually processed and an invoice with payment information emailed after a few days. Payment can be taken online by credit card or bank transfer, and invoices should be settled within 15 days.

How much are congress fees?

  • Super concession member of SIEF/WCAA sister association (with net annual income below €15,000): €130
  • Concession member of SIEF/WCAA sister association (with net annual income below €25,000): €180
  • Member of SIEF/WCAA sister association: €270
  • Non-member: €360

This fee includes an opening drinks reception, four lunches and six tea/coffee breaks, and access to all sessions and events. The congress party ticket is a charged-for extra (25 EUR), to be booked at the time of registration. The party will take place at Brno Market Hall (Zelný trh 14–16 v Brně, 602 00) on the final night of the congress (10 June), starting at 20:00. The number of tickets is limited, so we recommend booking yours soon.

A note on groups of students (larger than five) coming from the same university AND their attendance organised by a SIEF scholar teaching at that institution - please email us directly to congress(at)siefhome.org to figure out how you can be invoiced collectively, what the procedure is, as well as the price in such special cases.

Early Bird prices cease on 24 April with standard fees €75 more expensive.

What are you paying for?

SIEF prioritises the attendance of precarious scholars, using the full price member and non-member fees to subsidise low-income registration categories. SIEF congresses make a point of not using the money coming from congress fees to cover the costs of drinks receptions, instead aiming to find local sponsors to subsidise those.

Funding

The Call for Funding will go out in a few days and we will email all authors, convenors and other active participants when it does. SIEF aims to give grants to some precarious scholars and students to partially cover costs such as registration fees, accommodation, travel, covid tests and visas for F2F participation. As the amount of funding is limited, grants will be partial.
